Aug 11, 2023NYSERDA Exhibits at the New York State Fair
Concerts, rides, and butter sculptures - the New York State Fair is back in Syracuse from August 23rd to September 4th. NYSERDA is joining the festivities to showcase New York’s latest clean energy developments and progress towards its nation-leading climate goals.
Stop by to see our exhibits and demonstrations (more on that below) or have your clean energy questions answered by the NYSERDA team.
Visit NYSERDA at the Wegmans Demonstration Kitchen for a live induction cooking demonstration from 3:30-4:30 p.m. every day of the State Fair. Demonstrations will cover how to use an induction stove or cooktop and their benefits, such as boiling water in about half the time and delivering precise temperature control.
A raffle will be held at each daily demonstration and an attendee will win a piece of premium cookware. Additionally, fairgoers can stop by the NYSERDA booth within the Experience Center at the Center of Progress Building to enter for a chance to win an induction cooktop.
Induction stoves transmit heat to metal cookware through an electromagnetic current, and thus, operate with cookware containing magnetic properties, such as cast iron, enameled cast iron, and many types of stainless steel. This process is more energy efficient than gas or electric cooktops and keeps the cooking surface cool since heat is being transmitted directly to the cookware.
